Reading struggles are rarely just about reading. Frustration, avoidance, and shaken confidence travel with them — and a plan that addresses only the academics usually stalls. That's why Hill Education Services looks at every student through a dual lens: the reading specialist's, grounded in the science of how literacy skills are built, and the behavior specialist's, focused on motivation, engagement, and what helps this particular learner show up ready to try.

Susan uses evidence-based strategies, instruction, and assessments to support students exactly where they are — building skills in a systematic and yet engaging way, with data guiding instruction. Learners are equal contributors to the process: they're introduced to strategies that support their reading, comprehension, critical thinking, self-efficacy, and — most importantly — self-confidence.

Families are partners too. From understanding an IEP to advocating effectively in meetings, Susan helps parents feel as capable in the process as their students become in the classroom.
